Finding the right balance between stationary desk units and mobile handsets

Hello team! We are currently re-evaluating our internal telephony hardware setup for a growing customer service team. While browsing enterprise equipment categories like those on PMC Telecom, I noticed a stark split in selection between traditional heavy-duty corded IP desk phones and multi-cell DECT cordless systems. For environments where staff need to move around the warehouse or office floor while handling calls, what is the current gold standard? Do cordless DECT handsets suffer from interference compared to tethered desk units?

In my experience, the best choice depends on how mobile your team needs to be. For warehouse staff or employees who frequently move around the office, modern multi-cell DECT systems are an excellent solution because they provide seamless roaming and reliable call quality. We have not experienced significant interference, provided the system is professionally installed and coverage is planned correctly. Fixed desk staff still benefit from corded IP phones thanks to their stability and advanced call-handling features. Before upgrading, I compared several business VoIP phones to ensure each department received hardware suited to its daily workflow and communication needs.
